Prof. Jacek Sznurkowski, MD, PhD, MBA

Professor Jacek Jan Sznurkowski graduated from the Medical University of Gdańsk in 1991 and earned an MBA in Healthcare from Lazarski University in Warsaw in 2015. He completed internships at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and the MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas. Additionally, he undertook five internships at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
He served as a lecturer in the Department of Surgical Oncology at the Medical University of Gdańsk until 2023, when he concluded his academic appointment.
He is currently the CEO of the private surgical center Professor Jacek Sznurkowski Podmiot Leczniczy. He also works occasionally as a house surgeon at Swissmed Hospital in Gdańsk, now operating under the name Luxmed Hospital.
Professor Sznurkowski holds three medical specialties: Obstetrics and Gynecology (2004), Gynecologic Oncology (2012), and Surgical Oncology (2019). To date, he remains the only surgeon in Poland certified in both gynecologic oncology and surgical oncology.
In 2019, he was awarded the academic title of Full Professor of Medicine.
He previously served as Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kopernik Hospital in Gdańsk. His clinical expertise includes the surgical treatment of gynecologic, gastrointestinal, and skin cancers, including melanoma.
He is a member of the Board of the Polish Society of Gynecologic Oncology (PTGO) and a member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO), the European Society of Gynecologic Oncology (ESGO), the Polish Oncological Surgery Society (PTCHO), the Polish Gynecologic Society (PTG), and the Polish Society of Experimental and Clinical Immunology (PTIKID).
