Lech Stachurski MD, PhD

Graduate of the Medical Academy in Gdańsk.
Earned his PhD with a dissertation titled: "Treatment of Male Urethral Strictures by Internal Optical Urethrotomy."
Recipient of individual Rector's Awards, 3rd and 2nd Degree.
Served for thirteen years as Deputy Head of the Department and Clinic of Urology at the Medical Academy in Gdańsk.
Since 2001, he has been the Head of the Urology Department at the Municipal Hospital in Gdynia.
For many years, he has served as a judge of the Regional Medical Chamber Court.
Author or co-author of 38 scientific publications.
Presented 82 papers at urological congresses and participated in 190 urological conferences and symposia.
Supervised the urology specialization training of nine physicians.
Performed five urological surgeries as the first surgeon to do so in Poland.
Former Deputy and then Chairman (for fifteen years) of the Northwest Branch of the Polish Urological Association (PTU).
Former Secretary of the Main Board of the PTU for five years.
Founding member of the PTU Section of Endourology and ESWL.
Former Board Member and later Chairman of the PTU Section of Endourology and ESWL.
Member of the European Association of Urology (EAU).
Former member of the Urology Section of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Completed internships at:

Krankenhaus Rudolfsstiftung in Vienna (Prof. M. Marberger)
Urologische Klinik und Transplantationszentrum in Bremen (Prof. Dr. Dreikorn)

Interests: Formerly motor racing and rallies; currently impressionism, high mountain tourism (Himalayas, Andes), scuba diving, sailing, and skiing.
